World Clean-Up Day

Dear Colleagues, As in the previous two years, Toyota Motor Corporation is using September as it’s Volunteer Awareness Month and invites us all to join this activity! 19th of September is going to be World Clean Up Day (WCD), one of the biggest global civic action with the goal of bringing together 5% of the world’s population united around one common goal: to clean up the planet. Our business interacts with the environment. Hence, it is up to us to take care of it along with Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 and particularly Challenge 6. By helping to keep our environment clean, we contribute to ensuring that it will remain in good shape for our future generations. We at Toyota Motor Europe have been participating in various initiatives together with our clients, partners and suppliers to make sure we protect not only the areas in which we operate but also the individuals who live within these locations. We are proud that as from 2020, Toyota Motor Corporation will take a global lead and invite other regions to join this initiative as well. To make Toyota Motor Europe’s World Clean Up Day in your company a success we would count on your active participation. We understand that this year will pose significant challenges due to COVID-19 and it may be difficult to organise group clean-up activity or something on that specific date. However we would encourage you empower your members and the dealer partners to have a personal activity in the coming weeks and share this with you. This type of initiative is welcomed and valued by our stakeholders and can positively contribute to BRiT activity in our opinion. Firstly, we suggest nominating a World Clean Up Day leader. This person would have three main responsibilities: 1) To raise awareness about the event in the company and local community 2) To coordinate actions locally that will involve both teammates and business partners 3) To share best practices with colleagues and clients as part of Toyota Motor Europe’s World Clean Up Day network What is important is to participate, to show the world and each other that at Toyota Motor Europe we care.
